Creating Feminized Marijuana Seeds
Regular marijuana seeds don’t grow in nature, they’re the product of artificial crossbreeding, feminization, or modified with a Ruderalis species to enable them to bloom faster or more frequently. Regular seeds come from the pollen of male plants pollinated by the female. They create either the male or the Female plant at maturity (know, just like a regular bud, the male doesn’t flower until the female has produced buds). The plants can grow just fine if they’re crossed with a normal male cannabis seed, but cannot produce any seeds of their own. All it takes is a sterile female plant, some female plants with male plants already on them, and a male sterile plant with seeds in his sperm packets. A cross of these two will produce a new plant that’s going to have all the traits of its parents – including the ability to grow, reproduce itself – and it will have the attributes of a regular marijuana seed. With a little patience and work, you’ll end up with a gorgeous female plant that’s going to flower and grow tall.
But there are some things you have to keep in mind when trying to crossbreed with regular marijuana seeds. You have to make sure that your plants are in good health otherwise, they won’t grow properly, and you need to make sure they’re all roughly the same size and height. Many hybrid varieties can actually be smaller or taller than regular cannabis plants by just a few millimeters, so it’s important to keep this in mind if you’re looking to crossbreed a large plant with another smaller one. If you don’t plan to crossbreed a lot of plants, a good option is to find one particular plant and breed it to produce the ‘perfect’ variety for crossbreeding with other plants.
Crossbreeding is actually pretty easy. In fact, there are many different instructions online for how to do it is easy to do. All you need to produce approximately 50 plants of each parent plant for it to be successful. You’ll want to create one single female plant and then take the resulting seeds and plant them into the exact same spot where you want your new cannabis plant to grow. When these two plants flower, you will have exactly what you want because you’ll have exactly fifty plants, all with the characteristics of each parent plant.
Crossbreeding isn’t as easy as just taking a new female plant and crossing it with another one to produce fifty new plants. The chances of success are much smaller and there’s an increased chance of disease when you do this. This is why it’s not recommended for people who aren’t experienced enough in breeding and crossbreeding marijuana plants to create feminized weed seeds. With that being said, if you’re a serious grower who’s trying to create feminized weed seeds, I would recommend taking some female cannabis plant and crossing it with one of your male seed plants. This is a great way to create new and unique feminized plants, and the results will be amazing!
