Autoflowering seeds or “duds” as they are commonly called, can be a good way to grow more Marijuana. Autoflowering marijuana seeds have been around for quite some time but just recently have become popular as an alternative to indoor growing. Some of the newer varieties can even be grown outdoors under the right conditions. Before you get started with any type of Outdoor marijuana growing, it is important to understand how the different varieties grow, what is needed for optimal growing conditions and the different ways to go about finding quality outdoor marijuana seeds.
The best time of year to start growing marijuana plants is in the spring after the flowering season. It is not uncommon for marijuana plants to continue blooming throughout the summer months. This is especially true of some hybrid varieties which will continue to bloom all summer long even though other varieties of marijuana might have minimal growing conditions. However, some high quality marijuana plants such as some Sativas varieties may only need to be awakened once a week in the early summer before they stop flowering completely.
Most outdoor marijuana seeds are grouped into two separate categories based on whether they are autoflowering or not. An autoflowering seed will need to be awakened or taken out of the ground every single day throughout the growing season in order to remain dormant. Many people mistakenly think that these types of seeds are only for indoor growing and, of course, they are right. But, with the proper setup, anyone can grow an assortment of high quality marijuana plants including some which are considered annuals.
Some common autoflowering strains include the White Wives, White Bobobees, White Genius, White Raccoon, White Tone and the Chronic smoker just to name a few. Most of the white widow and white bootees are Sativa dominant, meaning they produce high levels of sativa instead of Adrenalin that is what sets them apart from other strains. These strains will need to be planted in full sunlight and, if the climate is cool, be placed in the refrigerator. They are best planted in groups of three to five plants indoors in the summer and outdoors during cooler temperatures. As far as indoor growing goes, the Chronic White Taper produces the highest quantities of buds so it is recommended to buy regular seeds for this one.
When it comes to autoflowering marijuana seeds for indoor growing, the Chronic White Taper and White Genius are two of the best. The White Wives, or White Bobobee as it is also known, is a high producing Sativa/ Cannabis variety that produces large amounts of buds in the summer months but will flower later in the year. This plant is highly recommended for indoor cultivation because it is one of the best to harvest at the end of the summer months. The White Taper also produces large amounts of buds during the summer months but the amount produced decreases as the plants start to age. It is recommended that this plant is planted in three to five groupings indoors in the summer and early fall and then be moved outside in the winter months.
The most popular strain is the Indica variety, which is native to Mexico and to some extent, the world. Most commonly found in marijuana seeds sold today are the Jamaican Blueberry, Moroccan Blueberry and the Mendocino strains. Although there is little difference between the Indica and the hybrids, they all do well with a similar growing regimen. Some Indica varieties also have been crossbred with the Africanosa, Catarrh and Hawaiian, giving even more robust results. The main differences between the Indicas and the hybrids are the lack of true pollen deposition on the seeds and the relative inability of the plants to handle high temperatures.
If you plan on buying seeds for your Indica plants, keep in mind that the flowering period is brief; around three weeks in length. This means that you must take care when harvesting and trimming off the old leaves, keeping the young roots trimmed close to the base to ensure that they produce as many blooms as possible. If you harvest too early you will stunt the productivity of the plant and if you trim too late, the leaves will wilt before any flowering has taken place. It can be difficult to tell how much time to harvest from each flowering bud but it is best to experiment a little to determine what times correspond to your indoor growing schedule.
Autoflowering seeds allow you to get the most out of your indoor growing season. You can even start growing your favorite indoor plants using these autoflowering marijuana plants. When you transplant the buds indoors into their new surroundings, you can be sure that they will thrive. They will flower earlier and you can expect a higher yield as well. In addition to flowering, autoflowering seeds also allow you to control your indoor plants temperature. With some indoor plants, you may not even need to use soil anymore because the buds will absorb the necessary nutrients from the air.
