While most seed packets will be labeled with the sex of the plant, only few packets will actually say “limited Edition.” Many times, if you go to the seed store, you’ll be faced with a long line of strains.
There are some reasons why limited edition seeds are so hard to find. One is that many companies that offer cannabis seeds don’t really sell true to life strains. Some companies produce feminized cannabis plants, but then fail to do any sort of feminization on the ends, meaning that cannabis that has been altered with these plants is not truly cannabis at all.
Others may produce feminized strains by taking some tiny piece of tissue out of each flower and then implanting that piece into a petri dish. When that piece is removed, you end up with something that looks just like a regular cannabis flower. However, since this piece of tissue is so tiny, the plant is considered infertile. It can be used in hydroponic systems, but since it doesn’t produce any flowers, it’s not going to be very useful. This is one reason why you won’t usually see any feminized cannabis plants at your local gardening store.
Even if you did find a rare breed of cannabis with a true DNA stamp of a true cannabis DNA, chances are it will be difficult to propagate that strain. The cannabis world is a highly competitive place. Just because one company decides to make a certain cannabis strain, doesn’t mean that company is going to be the first to come out with that particular strain. In many cases, small companies are forced to jump through a lot of hoops before they can get a cannabis strain to market. In many cases, these companies simply have to work harder than many large companies to make their product available.
Limited Edition Seeds. Limited Edition Seeds are not like any other strains out there. These are some of the most rare and hard to find cannabis seeds. These strains have been created by professional breeders and then chosen to be released for public consumption.
Many times, the intention of the creator of a limited edition genetics is two-fold. There are two main ways that cannabis breeders go about creating these limited edition genetics. Some breeders will use traditional breeding techniques, like inter-line breeding or gene pooling. This is when two separate lines of cannabis are crossed with each other. This will increase the probability that one of the lines will produce a high quality cannabis product. On the other hand, some breeders like to go into isolation where no two plants even come in contact with each other. This method of cultivating reduces the chances of cross-contamination from the outside world.
The final way that limited edition cannabis seeds are made is by selective harvesting. If only part of the crop has been produced, that crop is used to produce the cannabis product. The rest of the crop goes to waste. Since most cannabis plants only grow a few leaves at a time, this is an effective way of conserving the limited edition seeds that are produced.
