Lemon Belly Strain is a lip gloss that is formulated to give you the natural look and feel of your mouth. If you’re anything like me, you hate fighting with your lipstick to get that perfect application every time. You also have to use some extra care when picking and applying it because of its tendency to settle into your gums and recede from the minute you pull it off. I wanted a product that was not only safe for my lips but also was non-comedogenic (that is, it doesn’t clog pores). I specifically selected this shade because I am a huge fan of subtle colors.
Upon applying it, I noticed immediately that it was not at all sticky or difficult to put on. It was a smooth, soft texture that stayed on all day long. The texture made it easy for me to put on while driving or doing other activities without having to worry about getting caught up in my car keys. When I first looked at it, I assumed that it would be more yellow and orange based on the packaging, but I was surprised to see a totally pink version. It also came with two applicators so that I could apply it evenly on my lip.
I was so impressed by the way Lemon Belly Strain smelled that I wore it the entire day. I was expecting something like a sweet and fruity flavor, but nothing of that nature. It had a slight smell of lemons, and a bit of a tangy taste with a slight hint of tobacco. It was a very nice and not overwhelming scent! In fact, I would have worn it all day and never realized I was wearing it at all.
I don’t normally drink coffee, but when I did come across this lip gloss, I knew I had to have a sip. I couldn’t stop myself. The taste was very smooth and not at all acidic.
As for color, I went with a slightly darker shade of pink. I think the lighter version was a bit too pink for me, as well as a bit darker than I prefer. It looked very nice on my lips, and I wanted to put it on as quickly as possible before it started to show signs of running. Unfortunately, after two applications, I decided that it was about time to wash it off. There wasn’t much stain, but it did seem to start to turn a brownish color.
This lip gloss was the best thing I’ve tried so far, hands down. The color stays on all day long, and it’s a sheer formula that’s easy to apply. I applied a small dab for each area of my lip before applying the lip balm, and I simply wiped it off once it was dry. The balm is extremely hydrating, as it adds shine to your lips. I also noticed that it made my lips feel really soft, which is a definite positive for me.
As for price, it was an okay price, but it definitely won’t last you a long time. I’d recommend picking up a similar product as you would the Lemon Bubblegum Strain, but it might actually be a good idea to buy the bigger bottle as well. I’d say that I’m happy with my decision, and I’d recommend it to anyone who suffers from this problem. If you want a cheaper alternative, I’d recommend the Tonic Lip Gloss. It wasn’t quite as moisturizing as the Strain, but it did a great job.
All in all, I’d say that the Lemon Bubblegum Strain does a great job at making my lips appear to be out and sexy! The thing that I do wish I had done differently, however, is that I would have let it dry on my lips before putting on my lipstick. That way, I’d have gotten more benefit out of the product. Other than that, I’d recommend this product to everyone. It will help make your smile look a lot better, and it will feel fantastic too!
