How to Decorate Your Lemon Curls

The Lemon Curl Pomegranate Syrup is a great recipe for summer treats. I was looking for recipes that would have both my daughter and my husband excited about serving. We are both children at heart, so we made some trying to decide which one we would try first. Here is what we found out.

First, let’s get to the lemon juice. My daughter absolutely loves the taste of the lemon juice. The kids seem to be evenly divided between the lemon juice to taste and the cereal syrup taste. This is because lemon juice is an antiseptic and can cut down on the sting of bee stings.

This gives us the two ingredients we need. The first two ingredients are the cake mix and the pudding mix. We used to always use a different kind every time so this was just in order to give them a change. Next is the pudding. I used to give the kids a slice of chocolate cake and this worked well as well.

Now, we get to the actual lemon curd recipe. We started with three eggs and two cups of low fat milk. We also added two lemons cut into wedges. We then took our lemon and squeezed it until it was a paste like consistency and added two whole teaspoons of freshly squeezed lemon juice.

Then we wrapped the whole thing in foil and cooked it on the stove. It took about thirty minutes but it was still soft when we removed it from the oven. We baked it again until it was done. Then we served it. Everyone seemed to love it and asked for more.

To make the lemon curl cookies we started with two cups of white sugar. We also added three and a half cups of packed brown sugar. Next, we made a very thick icing out of one cup of powdered sugar and one and a half teaspoons of lemon juice. We used a cookie cutter to form it into curls. I found that it was easiest to use a teaspoon sized ice cream scoop so that I could scoop the mixture into my cookie cutter straight to my intended target.

We served it with some fresh balsamic vinegar and a squeeze of lemon. It was delicious and extremely easy to prepare. I highly recommend trying this recipe because it is absolutely delicious. It also gave me the opportunity to try my hand at different types of icing and found that I liked it as much or better than my usual creations. There are so many things you can do with this simple recipe and your imagination is definitely the limit.

There are certainly many other ways you can use this lemon curd recipe or even modify it to create other foods such as cookies, cakes or puddings. Just remember to add lemon juice for flavoring and you will have something nutritious and sweet that children will love. In fact, they will ask for more. Give this delicious recipe a try next time you need a quick and easy snack for dinner or a treat for yourself.

When making a curl, you need to make sure to let the mixture cool before you begin assembling it. You want to avoid burning and if you use the hot settings on your oven, you will not get the desired result. Using a cooling rack will give you the best results. Another way to get the same result without burning is to allow your mixture to cool naturally. You will be surprised how soft and tasty it will be when it is completely cooled.

As far as decorations are concerned, you have plenty of options. Some people prefer to decorate their lemon curl with dried fruits. These can be coconut pieces, pecans, walnuts, cinnamon cashews, or shredded coconut. You can also use dried cranberries, blueberries, raspberries, strawberries or even frozen fruit. Again, make sure that they are thoroughly dried before you use them.

Another creative way to give your lemon curl a different look is to coat it in glaze. This works well for summer and spring and gives you an array of vibrant colors to choose from. Glazing can be done simply by placing the lemon curl into the food processor or blender, blending until it becomes a smooth paste, then spooning it into small dishes. Let it dry and then add a little water or milk and let sit overnight to allow the mixture to gel.

When you have finished decorating your lemon curl, you can give it away as is or have it incorporated into other recipes. For example, you could create a dessert. Lemon cakes or cupcakes would be a great treat for you and your family. Just be sure that you do not over bake the lemon curl to lose the natural, moist texture. Also, you may decide to have it incorporated into the meringue or sauce. This will add a wonderful flavor to your next dessert.
