Limited Edition Seeds is a North American-based seed company that produces artisanal, small-scale seeds, mostly focused on small-scale, artisanal seed farms in the United States and Canada. It strives to work with smallholders, empowering them to create a wealth of knowledge about how their food is grown and marketed. Seed is a multi-year process, with the planting of seedlings taking anywhere from four to twelve months. Limited Edition Seeds will deliver small batches of high quality, hand-picked seedlings grown on small plots to you, the consumer, with a selection that grows according to the seasons.
Seeds have been the object of desire for many generations among adventurous males, who seek a means to get high. Modern society has altered perceptions of what it takes to grow cannabis, making seeds more attractive to growers. Seed banks have emerged across the United States as a result of urban growth and prosperity. These are communities of professional breeders and suppliers who focus on making sure that marijuana is consistently available through various stages of its growth from seedlings to harvest.
The most common strains for outdoor cannabis seeds are African indicas, Hawaiian Kona, Hawaiian mono, Mexican indices, and Indonesian Kalahari. Limited Edition Seeds strives to focus on new hybrid cultivars in order to provide consumers with consistent high-quality cannabis. Some of these include; Cheese, Hip Pocket, Lemon Haze, Maui, Montana and New Mexico. All these are feminized strains, meaning that they have had reproductive traits altered to enable them to produce feminized offspring. These feminized strains are not “real” cannabis but can be smoked and sold under the pretense of medical or therapeutic herbs. Some of these have been used for years by traditional healers in the U.S., yet have not been federally legalized.
Limited Edition Seeds also produces what are called “silent strains”. These strains do not have distinctive, distinct traits, but will produce exceptional results each time that they are planted. For example, the Maui and Kalahari strains are considered to be “silent”, which means that they will produce a highly potent, beautiful flower, but won’t attract much attention when that is done. The two breeds that fit into this category are Papua and Puna.
Many of the strains being produced are specifically bred for their flowering time. Some, such as Kalahari, are known for their full, dark blushes. Other, such as Cheese, are famous for their dual colors. Either way, these plants are known for their ability to produce large amounts of buds in a short amount of time. They are also used to propagate, meaning that breeders can collect as many as possible and plant them in various areas. This is useful for farmers, because it means that there are fewer weeds and less time spent harvesting and storing the plants.
Limited Edition Kalahari is one of the many Kalahari varieties produced by Pure Hawaiian Gardens. It is commonly known as the “Queen Anne’s Lace”, which is partially responsible for the strain name. This gorgeous strain was developed by sequencing over eleven generations all four genes responsible for the flowering time of the plant were found. This discovery came as quite a shock to Hawaiian gardeners, because it meant that some strains would now be classified as Super Low Plantar Hormones (SGH), which is not in any way desirable. However, as the “Queen Anne’s Lace” got passed down through the generations, it became apparent that it actually works and produces beautiful flowers.
Some of the more popular Limited Edition Seeds are the Maui Island Blend, the Maui Moonwell, and the Wailua Creek Combination. All of these varieties are known for their hardiness and resistance to disease, and the plants do well under adverse weather conditions, including wind, havars and drought. In addition to this, most Limited Edition seeds are also very easy to keep and maintain, even for novice gardeners and keepers. Even though the plants do not flower for twelve months straight, the quality and amount of flowers produced do increase as the season progresses, so you can enjoy them year round. In addition to the hardy traits, most Limited Edition varieties also produce beautiful flowers that will exceed your expectations.
There are only a handful of hybrid strains that have been proven to have the characteristics described here, and the most popular one in particular is the Moutain Jungle. The main strain is the Moutain indica, which were originally developed in France, and then successfully transferred to Hawaii where it thrived. A new variation on this same strain is the Wailua Creek, which was also developed in Hawaii but is now available throughout the world. The Hawaiian varieties of these strains are all known as” indica”, which simply means “coming up behind”. The term “indica” simply refers to the plant‘s flowering time, and the plants in this family do not typically flower for more than three weeks during the year.
